Heather's Diaries
Heather's Diary (November 20th) - Part 9
... I was just interrupted by a phone call from
Forest. He said he has a surprise for me and is going
to bring it over tonight! I wonder what it is? I'll
just have to wait and see.
Diary Entry - November 20th: Dear Diary, those were
the last words in yesterday's entry. And now, I don't
know where to begin. Let me just start at the
beginning. I am so flustered. I hope I don't forget
anything. I still can't believe this...
Forest came over at 7:00. I wasn't wearing anything
special for him when he arrived. I figured I could
become his leather goddess as the night progressed.
He came in carrying a bottle of wine and a very long
thin box. The box was white with a red ribbon around
it. He kissed me when he came in and asked me to open
the wine. He went into the living room, set the long
thin box on the coffee table and met me in the
kitchen. I opened the wine and poured 2 glasses for
the both of us.
My curiosity finally got the best of me so I blurted
out, "Well, when do I get to see what's in the box?".
Forest replied, "Are you that interested? Can't you
wait a couple of hours?".
"No. I mean, yes - if I had to. Is there anything I
can do to convince you to let me open it now?". I
pouted to receive some sympathy.
Forest quickly returned, "Oh yes. There are many
things you could do to convince me. But if you did
what I wanted, you wouldn't get to the package for
several hours - if you know what I mean!". He raised
his eyebrows and smiled.
I understood what he meant. He would ask me to
leather up, then I could easily convince him to allow
me to open the package - but then we would end up
having wild sex and by the time I got around to
opening the package, it would be later than if I
simply waited. "I know what you mean" was my reply.
We walked into the living room and sat down on the
couch.
He was as nervous as I had ever seen him so whatever
was in the box had to be very special. If I had to
guess, it looked like a glove box - duh, maybe there
were leather gloves in the box.
Forest then said, "Oh all right! If you are really
that interested in seeing what's in the box, go ahead
and open it!".
We were sitting on the couch side by side. I reached
out, grabbed the box and placed it on my lap. I
untied the red ribbon and let it fall to the floor. I
opened the lid of the box to discover something
wrapped in white tissue paper. I slowly began to peel
back the tissue paper to see what it was hiding.
Finally, the gift was exposed.
It was the most beautiful pair of long white leather
opera gloves! I removed the glove on top - it was the
right glove. I examined it closely and discovered
there were 3 buttons at the wrist. The buttons were
pearls. The quality of the workmanship was exquisite!
These gloves must have cost him a fortune. My mind
began thinking of the leather outfits that this would
go best with.
Forest nervously said, "Be sure to examine the left
glove as well.".
I reached in and pulled out the left glove. It, too,
was a work of beautiful craftsmanship. But then I
thought I noticed a flaw in one of the fingers. As I
turned the glove over in my hand, I saw that it was no
flaw - Forest had placed a diamond ring around the
ring finger of the glove!
Forest slid off the couch, dropped to his right knee,
grabbed my hand, looked into my eyes and said,
"Heather, will you marry me?".
My heart stopped! For a fraction of a second, the
entire time spent with Forest flashed through my mind.
Every memory - all happy - came to me as clear as a
bell at that instant. I re-lived the past month in a
fraction of a second. I immediately replied "Yes! Oh
yes I will marry you!". Tears of joy flooded my eyes.
Forest and I kissed for quite some time before he
looked at me and said, "I hope you will be able to
wear these special gloves with your wedding dress.".
"Oh, you know it mister! Not only will I wear these
at the wedding, but these will be my wedding night
gloves as well!", I said through tears of happiness.
Then, for whatever reason, I made a mental list of who
would be my bridesmaids and what they would be
wearing. It was going to be beautiful! All of my
bridesmaids would also wear gloves. I would be the
goddess decked out in leather gloves - they would wear
satin gloves. It was going to be perfect.
I wondered what was going through Forest's mind. Is
it possible he is as happy as I am right this very
minute? It's too bad Forest doesn't keep a diary. I
would love to know what he has been thinking!
It was now time to show my fiance how happy I was.
"Please wait here while I go and change into something
more comfortable", I whispered in his ear. ...
... Unbeknownst to Heather, Forest also kept a diary.
